v1.4.32026-08-16

ACC & LMU Fixes, Voice Pack Audio

  • FIXED: ACC GT3 class consolidation β€” All GT3 cup categories (Pro, Silver, Am, National) are now treated as a single GT3 class, matching what drivers see on the ACC results screen. No more incorrect per-category class winner calls.
  • FIXED: ACC track name timing β€” The booth now waits for ACC to deliver the track name before speaking the session intro. Eliminates "this circuit" placeholders and "UnknownTrack" log filenames.
  • FIXED: LMU track name timing β€” Same fix as ACC. Marvin now correctly announces the track name in the session intro.
  • FIXED: ElevenLabs isolation β€” Fixed a bug where the live ElevenLabs booth provider was active for end users even with voice pack fallback disabled. End users now exclusively use local voice pack audio as intended.
  • FIXED: Silent event coverage β€” Added category fallback mappings for 10+ event types that previously had no audio (SessionClassWin, SessionOutro, BroadcastLappedTraffic, and more). These events now resolve to appropriate voice pack clips.
  • NEW: 20 fragment composition templates for class results, podium calls, class fastest lap, and Driver of the Day events.
  • NEW: Delta update logging β€” Voice pack delta updates now log every extracted file to voicepack_debug.log for easier troubleshooting.
v1.4.12026-08-15

rFactor 2 Support & Fixes

  • NEW: rFactor 2 support β€” Full broadcast commentary now works with rF2. Same shared-memory plugin as Le Mans Ultimate; auto-detects rFactor2.exe when running.
  • FIXED: Voice pack delta updates β€” Fixed pipeline so delta updates download and apply correctly. Manifest now reads from the authoritative source, and delta ZIPs upload directly to CDN.
  • FIXED: ACC track name audio β€” Added 21 missing ACC track name audio fragments (Barcelona, Brands Hatch, Hungaroring, Silverstone, Suzuka, Zandvoort, COTA, and more).
  • NOTE: rF2 requires the rFactor2SharedMemoryMapPlugin64.dll in your rF2 Plugins folder (same plugin used by Crew Chief).
  • NOTE: Voice pack users β€” run "Check for Voice Pack Updates" to get the latest track name audio.
v1.4.02026-08-15

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ Spanish Commentary

  • Full three-voice Spanish booth β€” Marvin Makai (caller), Marley Mae (analyst), and Reese (pit lane reporter) all deliver commentary in fluent, motorsport-native Spanish
  • Dedicated Spanish voices β€” unique voice models for each booth persona in Spanish mode, separate from the English voices
  • 2,600+ Spanish dialogue lines covering session intros, pit reports, battles, lead changes, driver stories, purple sectors, conditions reports, small talk, and more
  • Spanish number words β€” sector and lap times spoken naturally (e.g., "cuarenta y uno punto cuatro nueve seis" instead of "forty-one point four nine six")
  • Spanish pit lane reporter β€” pit in/out reports, weather conditions, wind, temperature trends, and grip updates all in Spanish
  • Spanish temperature callouts β€” "grados Celsius" / "grados Fahrenheit" instead of English
  • Available to all users β€” Spanish commentary is included in the Free tier, no Pro subscription required
  • Works with all supported sims β€” switch language in Settings, click Apply, no restart needed
v1.3.22026-08-15

πŸ—£οΈ Driver Name Voice Pack Fix

  • Pronunciation field now works β€” the pronunciation hint you enter is used during both preview AND final generation (previously ignored during generation, causing downloaded voice packs to sound different from the preview)
  • Preview plays full name β€” the preview button now plays your complete name (first + last) instead of only the first name
  • Server-side pronunciation support β€” backend TTS generation now accepts and applies pronunciation overrides, ensuring names like "RubΓ©n Cerlem" are spoken correctly when a guide (e.g., "Roo-ben Sair-lem") is provided
v1.3.12026-08-14

Voice Pack Delta Updates β€” Live πŸŽ‰

  • Voice pack delta updates are now live and delivering to end users β€” when new commentary audio, driver name fragments, or booth lines are added, your voice pack updates automatically with no full re-download needed
  • 50 delta updates published to date (~584 MB of new content spanning July 7 – August 13)
  • Pack version now syncs correctly when checking for updates, even when already up to date
v1.3.02026-08-10

RaceRoom Racing Experience Is Here!

  • 🏁 Race Cast now supports RaceRoom Racing Experience β€” full-field live timing, broadcast commentary, and automatic connection. Just launch the game and Race Cast does the rest. No setup required.
  • Smarter session detection β€” Fixed an issue in PMR Race Weekend mode where skipping to Race could announce the wrong session type
  • Better time display β€” Long sessions now show hours, minutes, and seconds (e.g., "23:52:02" instead of "1432:02")
  • Per-sim tuning β€” Each game now has its own intro timing for faster, more accurate session announcements
v1.2.152026-08-09

Maintenance Update β€” Security, Commentary & Stability

  • Stronger license enforcement β€” Pro features now require active server validation; offline usage without a valid license is no longer possible
  • Tamper-resistant session tracking β€” Free-tier session limits are now hardened against local file manipulation
  • Subscription status awareness β€” The app now properly handles payment issues, grace periods, and cancellation states, showing appropriate warnings instead of silently granting access
  • New commentary lines β€” Added phrases for pace drop-off observations during practice and qualifying sessions
  • Smarter repetition avoidance β€” Extended the template cooldown window to 15 minutes for more natural commentary over long sessions
  • Finish sequence polish β€” Post-race podium and fastest-lap calls now go through the same dedup system as regular commentary
  • Thread-safe broadcast state β€” Fixed a rare issue where commentary could read stale data during sim switching
  • Pit reporter audio fix β€” Resolved an issue where pit-lane reporter audio could be silently skipped in certain voice pack configurations
  • Better error visibility β€” Voice generation errors are now logged to product diagnostics instead of being hidden in debug output
  • RaceRoom Racing Experience β€” Now officially documented as a supported sim (adapter was already shipping)
  • Assetto Corsa EVO β€” Cleaned up capability detection so commentary features match available data
  • Removed legacy Windows TTS code that was no longer in use
  • Pruned 8 unused audio library dependencies, reducing install size
  • Aligned all configuration presets and reference files to the current feature set
  • Fixed first-run setup flow when skipping voice pack configuration
  • Corrected PMR default port references across documentation
  • 456 automated tests passing (19 new tests added in this update)
v1.2.142026-08-05

Bug Fix: Personal Driver Name Pack Audio Playback

  • Fixed: Clicking 'Test Caller' or 'Test Analyst' on the Personal Driver Name Pack settings panel produced an error: 'Could not play audio: Not a wave file - no riff header'
  • Cause: The server generates name audio clips via ElevenLabs (MP3 output), but the client saved them with a .wav extension β€” playback assumed WAV format and failed on the missing RIFF header
  • Fix: The app now automatically detects the actual audio format (WAV, MP3, or other) regardless of file extension and plays it correctly
  • Fix: If your configured audio output device becomes unavailable, playback now gracefully falls back to the system default instead of erroring out
v1.2.102026-08-01

Settings β€” Voice Pack Version Display

  • Pack version now always visible β€” Settings dialog falls back to the current app version (e.g., v1.2.10) instead of showing 'v1.0.0' or blank when no server manifest version is available
  • When the voice pack delta update service provides a version from the server manifest, that version takes priority; otherwise the app version is displayed as the baseline
v1.2.92026-08-01

Broadcast Brain Overhaul β€” Biggest Commentary Quality Improvement Since Launch

  • Comprehensive audit and fix pass across all 12 core broadcast brain files (~15,000 lines of commentary logic)
  • Multiclass podiums fixed β€” class winners now correctly announced as 'Class Win' instead of using overall podium types; each class gets its own P1/P2/P3/Fastest Lap sequence
  • No more duplicate finish calls β€” native checkered-flag events and note-derived finish events now cross-deduplicate
  • Lead changes always get booth dialogue β€” every P1 move now gets proper Marvin + Marley treatment
  • Smarter cooldowns β€” template-match dedup strips positions and gap values before comparing, so 'Battle for P3' and 'Battle for P7' are treated as different events
  • Class-fastest-lap dedup β€” prevents the same driver's fastest lap being called multiple times in the same class
  • Reese now delivers ALL weather β€” both opening conditions brief and mid-race updates come from your pit reporter, not Marley
  • Session intros correctly identify session type β€” fixed a regression where race formation was announced as practice
  • Last-lap call fires at the START of the final lap, not mid-lap β€” gives the booth time to build drama
  • Lead swap separation β€” 'A passes B for the lead' and 'B retakes from A' tracked as distinct events with independent cooldowns
  • Wrap-aware gap calculations β€” gaps near the start/finish line no longer produce incorrect values on circular tracks
  • Double-finish guard β€” prevents the checkered flag state machine from firing twice in edge cases
  • Incident confidence decay β€” stale incident signals now lose confidence over time rather than persisting indefinitely
  • Multi-car incident correlation β€” incidents within a time/distance window grouped into a single multi-car event
  • Per-driver story cooldowns β€” prevents the same driver's arc from being called repeatedly within a window
  • Thread-safe cooldown tracking β€” SamePhraseCooldown upgraded to ConcurrentDictionary to prevent race conditions
  • Vehicle enrichment null-safety β€” no more edge-case crashes when a participant leaves mid-event
  • BoothState ring buffer resets on new session β€” prevents stale context from bleeding into the next session
  • 434 tests passing (expanded coverage for class podiums, finish dedup, and session transitions)
  • Clean session transitions: Practice β†’ CarSelection β†’ Race produces fresh intros for each phase
  • Diagnostic logging for session-type changes
v1.2.82026-07-31

Practice Commentary Expansion & Natural Booth Conversations

  • Expanded phrase bank from ~190 to 312 phrases across all 26 practice commentary categories (7β†’12 per category)
  • New phrases for: sector trends, consistency callouts, personal bests, track evolution, traffic encounters, pit stops, driver stories, and session atmosphere
  • With 5-minute cooldowns + 12 phrases per category, repetition within a single session is now statistically unlikely
  • Handoff gap jitter β€” pauses between Marvin and Marley now vary naturally (calm: 360ms Β± 60–100ms, standard: 220ms Β± 40–60ms, urgent: 120ms Β± 20–30ms)
  • Practice-specific relaxed prosody β€” ElevenLabs live voice is now slightly slower (Γ—0.97), more stable (+0.05), and less exaggerated (style Γ—0.88) during practice sessions
  • More booth banter lines β€” added analyst and caller variants for PracticeConsistency, TrackEvolution, TrafficImpeded, and LongGarage events
  • PMR gameMode and session fields now logged in SESSION_CONTEXT diagnostics (supports future protocol analysis)
  • New tryGetGameMode() method on DataStore for protocol field access
  • Test suite expanded (434 tests passing)
  • Known: PMR does not expose a replay indicator over UDP β€” replay-aware commentary is not possible without a game-side protocol update
v1.2.72026-07-26

Spectator Mode Broadcast Quality & TTS Audio Fix

  • Fixed: Two contradicting lead change calls firing within half a second during close battles β€” broadcast now announces only the settled leader position
  • Fixed: False Full Course Yellow announcements in AMS2 caused by local sector flags being misidentified as full-course cautions
  • Fixed: Repeated phrases at the end of a spectator session where the same commentary line could loop
  • Fixed: Broadcast intro incorrectly re-triggering at the end of an event in spectator mode
  • Fixed: 2+ minutes of dead air at race start in spectator mode β€” conditions report now fires immediately after the intro
  • Fixed: Position-change spam where oscillating positions could generate 8+ calls for the same driver pair in under 90 seconds
  • Fixed: ~30 rapid session resets during Qualifying-to-Race transitions in AMS2
  • Fixed: Session sign-off (outro) not firing when multiclass finish events pushed the timing window past game exit
  • Fixed: Grammatically broken analyst banter producing awkward mid-sentence fragments
  • Fixed: Em-dashes, double-dashes, and punctuation dashes in booth dialogue causing ElevenLabs to produce an 'ahhh' sound β€” all dash variants now sanitized to natural comma pauses before reaching TTS
v1.2.62026-07-26

Spectator Mode + Voice Quality Fixes

  • New: Spectator Mode (Pro) β€” watch multiplayer races as a spectator with full broadcast commentary, just like a live motorsport event
  • Auto-detect: Race Cast recognizes when you're spectating (no player car in the field) and activates Spectator Mode automatically
  • Manual toggle: Enable Spectator Mode from the settings panel before joining a session
  • Full broadcast coverage for spectators: race intros, battles, lead changes, pit stops, FCY/green flags, podium calls, and sign-off
  • Driver spotlight: Highlight any driver on the field for focused commentary, even as a spectator
  • Spectator Mode works across all supported sims: AMS2, ACC, AC, AC EVO, iRacing, LMU, PMR, Rennsport
  • Fixed: AMS2 spectator silence β€” resolved no commentary for entire races due to unreliable speed telemetry in spectator view
  • Fixed: End-of-race phrase repeat β€” eliminated looping of the same commentary line at the end of a race event
  • Fixed: False broadcast restart β€” the broadcast intro no longer fires at the end of a race, only at the start
  • Fixed: Qualifying-to-Race transition β€” race intro now properly fires when transitioning from qualifying to race
  • Fixed: Missing driver names in qualifying and practice commentary where {Driver} token was not being replaced
  • Voice quality: Cleaned up 28 spoken phrases where hyphens caused unnatural TTS pauses β€” booth dialogue now flows naturally
v1.2.52026-07-25

AMS2 Multiclass Fix + Practice Broadcast Events

  • Fixed: Multiclass finish sequence deadlock β€” phantom vehicle classes in AMS2 could block the finish sequence indefinitely, preventing race outro, Driver of the Day, and fastest lap calls. Added phantom class fast-skip, 30-second per-event stall timeout, and hard ceiling timeout
  • Fixed: Practice β†’ Race transition silence β€” AMS2 practice session intro latch was carrying over and blocking the race intro, which gates the entire commentary pipeline. Intro latch now clears on session-type changes
  • Fixed: Practice outro not firing during Practice β†’ Race transitions β€” AMS2 emits a brief INVALID tick (~62ms) that wiped saved participant data before the outro could use it. Rolling snapshot now preserved across transient ticks
  • Fixed: Race outro timing β€” fires reliably even when AMS2 reports phantom vehicle classes, no longer blocked for 5+ minutes
  • New: Practice Consistency β€” calls out drivers stringing together tight, consistent lap times
  • New: Track Evolution β€” commentary on improving track conditions and lap times dropping across the field
  • New: Traffic / Impeded Laps β€” detects when a driver's lap is compromised by slower traffic
  • New: Long Garage Stint β€” notes when a driver has been in the pits for an extended period
  • Replaced instructional full-course-yellow and green flag phrases with observational broadcast-style alternatives β€” the booth now reports flags rather than giving driver instructions
  • Practice and qualifying session outros now properly appear in race commentary logs and decision JSONL files
v1.2.42026-07-23

ACC Stability & Car Recognition

  • Fixed: ACC crash on session start β€” Race Cast no longer disrupts ACC during session loading, resolving crashes reported by users when starting a session with Race Cast connected
  • Fixed: Car model recognition β€” The booth now correctly identifies ACC cars by model (Ferrari 296 GT3, Porsche 992 GT3 R, BMW M4 GT3, Lamborghini HuracΓ‘n GT3 EVO2, etc.) instead of showing team/livery names
  • Fixed: Internal packet errors β€” Resolved recurring parsing errors in the ACC broadcasting adapter for smoother long-session stability
  • New car fact commentary β€” the analyst calls out engine specs and car characteristics for drivers on track
  • Off-pace detection β€” the booth notices and comments on drivers struggling for pace
  • Expanded practice/qualifying small talk for more natural session atmosphere
  • Voice pack and TTS prosody tuning for improved delivery
v1.2.32026-07-21

Practice & Qualifying Commentary Improvements

  • Session sign-off is back β€” Marley now wraps up every practice and qualifying session with a proper outro when the checkered flag waves. Previously, sessions could end silently on LMU, AMS2, ACC, and iRacing.
  • Accurate name callouts β€” When the booth calls out fastest laps and off-pace drivers during practice or qualifying, the names and positions now match what you see on screen. Fixed a timing issue where shared-memory sims (especially LMU and AMS2) could report stale lap times, causing the wrong driver to be credited.
  • Cross-sim fix β€” Both improvements apply to all supported sims. The session-end detection and lap-time accuracy are now independent of how each sim updates its internal data.
v1.2.22026-07-20

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed: LMU Practice & Qualifying commentary was completely silent β€” adapter's GetSessionState() was gated to Race-only, blocking intros, chatter, lap callouts, and session summary outros
  • Fixed: PMR formation lap callout removed β€” PMR uses standing starts only; the formation lap event no longer fires incorrectly
v1.2.12026-07-19

Assetto Corsa Competizione Support + Trial Metering + Code Signing

  • NEW: Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC) β€” full live commentary via broadcasting protocol
  • ACC: formation lap callouts, green flag detection, battle reports, position changes, leader gap stories, podium finishes
  • ACC: rolling starts fully supported β€” just enable broadcasting in ACC settings
  • Trial session metering β€” free-tier users get 5 full race sessions before Pro is required
  • Only completed races count toward trial β€” practice and qualifying are always free
  • Session count syncs with ewsimracing.gg across installs
  • Race Cast is now code-signed by EWSIMRACING LLC via Microsoft Trusted Signing
  • No more Windows SmartScreen warnings on install or update
v1.2.02026-07-18

Third Booth Voice β€” Reese Raines Joins the Broadcast

  • Reese Raines, pit lane reporter, joins Marvin and Marley as the third booth voice
  • Three-way booth dialogue: Marvin/Marley toss to Reese, she reports, then the other reacts
  • Reese delivers live weather reports using real telemetry β€” air temp, track temp, wind, rain, grip
  • Reese handles all pit lane reporting β€” pit in/out, tyre changes, fuel, stop times
  • Weather-aware personal banter: Marvin tells Reese to stay dry in rain, Marley reminds her to hydrate in heat
  • Reese fires back with confident, personality-driven responses
  • Dedicated Reese volume slider in the app alongside Marvin and Marley
  • Practice and qualifying sessions now read the full top-10 standings at session end
v1.1.72026-07-16

PMR default port fix + voice pack persistence

  • PMR UDP default port changed to 7576 (game default) β€” fixes silent connection failure for new users
  • Voice pack download now saves to %LOCALAPPDATA% instead of app directory β€” fixes re-download on every launch
v1.1.62026-07-15

Sim Detection Fix

  • Fixed PMR (and other sims) not being detected at startup
  • App would show "Game: None / No Adapter" despite the game running
  • Root cause: saved profile ID matched config but telemetry source was never activated
  • Added bootstrap switch to immediately activate saved sim on launch
v1.1.52026-07-15

TV-Style Broadcast Events

  • Added 9 new broadcast commentary events with ~370 unique dialogue lines
  • Lap Countdown milestones (halfway, 10/5/3 to go)
  • Closing Rate prediction ("He'll catch him in 4 laps")
  • Lapped Traffic awareness (leader approaching blue-flag cars)
  • Pace Drop detection (stint degradation alerts)
  • Strategy Gain/Loss through pit window
  • Multiclass round-robin Class Updates
  • Opening lap Grid Story narratives
  • Fuel Watch deficit tracking
  • Lap Record celebrations (significant fastest laps)
  • Full two-voice booth dialogue for all new events (caller + analyst banter)
