Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed version of your password. If you sign in via Discord, we receive your Discord username, avatar, and email. When you subscribe, Stripe processes your payment — we never see your full card number.

We also log your IP address for rate limiting and security purposes, and record download events (which files you downloaded and when) to support licensing and troubleshooting.

2. How We Use It

Your email is used to authenticate you, verify your account, link your subscription, and deliver important service communications (verification emails, password resets). Download logs help us understand usage and provide support.

3. What Race Cast Processes

EWSR Race Cast processes sim telemetry data locally on your machine. Commentary generation (text-to-speech) uses pre-recorded voice packs stored locally. If you opt into cloud voice generation, your text prompts are sent to a third-party TTS provider (ElevenLabs) using your own API key (BYOK). The app checks for voice pack updates from our servers but does not upload any of your data.

4. Data Storage

Account data (email, name, subscription status) is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. We do not store telemetry data, race sessions, or generated commentary on our servers. All race processing is local-first. Session authentication tokens are stored as secure HTTP-only cookies. Files you download (app installer, voice packs) are served from Cloudflare R2 storage.

5. Third-Party Services

  • Discord — optional authentication provider and community role sync
  • Stripe — subscription and payment processing
  • LemonSqueezy — subscription verification and license management
  • Mailchimp (Intuit) — marketing email and newsletter delivery
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (verification, password resets)
  • Cloudflare (Webflow Cloud) — site hosting, database, file storage
  • ElevenLabs — cloud voice generation (opt-in, BYOK only)
  • Microsoft Clarity — website analytics, heatmaps, and session replay

6. Website Analytics (Microsoft Clarity)

We use Microsoft Clarity for website analytics. Clarity is a behavioral analytics service provided by Microsoft Corporation that helps us understand how visitors interact with our website.

What Clarity Collects

When analytics consent is granted, Clarity may collect interaction data including clicks, scrolls, mouse movements, page views, and time on page. It generates heatmaps (visual maps of where visitors click and scroll) and session replays (anonymized recordings of how visitors navigate the site). Clarity uses first-party and third-party cookies to track sessions and distinguish unique visitors.

Why We Use It

We use this data to improve site navigation, identify usability issues, understand which pages help visitors, and optimize Race Cast landing pages and setup documentation. We also use this information for site optimization, fraud and security purposes, and advertising.

Your Consent Controls

Analytics cookies are categorized as optional. Clarity does not load and no analytics cookies are set until you explicitly accept analytics via our cookie consent banner. You can change your preference at any time using the “Cookie Settings” link in the website footer. If you reject analytics or revoke consent, Clarity cookies are deleted and no further analytics data is collected for your session.

Microsoft's Role

Microsoft processes Clarity data as a data processor on our behalf. Data may also be used by Microsoft in accordance with their privacy practices. For more information about how Microsoft collects and uses your data, visit the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Protected Pages

Clarity does not load on account pages, authentication pages, checkout confirmation pages, admin pages, or any route that displays billing, license keys, or private customer information — regardless of consent status.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party except as required to operate the Service (authentication providers, payment processing). Download analytics are internal-only.

8. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. You can change your password, update your email, or cancel your subscription from your account page at any time.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced via our Discord server and/or email notification.
